Hey, there. I’m Mason and I write stories. I started with writing in middle school and decades later, I finally sold my first book. Here’s my story.

My real name is Mason Powell. I feel the need to mention that because maybe you came across my fiction work where I write under the name Mason Dakota, or you found me through my nonfiction work as Mason D. Powell.

Allow me to tell you a bit about myself!

I am someone who seeks constant growth in myself to create the wisdom and humility needed to lead others. By disciplining myself to be at my best, I want to inspire others to do the same. I am grounded in a faith that takes me as I am and brings me to where I need to be. And I always look to take things to the next level because I know where things are is never as good as where they can be.

I began writing fiction when I was in middle school, and didn’t publish my first book, Nobility, until my freshman year of college in 2014. Thus began my career in writing and publishing.

I write in a wide range of genres, from fiction to nonfiction. You can find my complete and growing catalogue of books on this website. As well, you can even find many free ebooks you can get on this website.

But I do far more than publish books.

I host a podcast called The Archippus Podcast with my former college roommate where we seek to help encourage people to do what they were created to do with their lives.

I also serve as the Teaching pastor of The Bluff Church. Every week I get to preach the Gospel to a crowd of people that I enjoy doing life alongside. You can find my messages on our church podcast or by checking out our website.

My dream is to one day pastor my church for free by living off my writing. Simply by you being on this website, you help that dream along.

My real passion, though, is my family most of all. I am happily married to my wife, Jodi Powell (Who is an author herself. Check out some her children’s book here). Together we have one daughter named Harper, who keeps us very busy.
